At least we got a downpour today
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution documents the myriad of government failures that led to Atlanta’s current drought. The most interesting tidbit is that then-Governor Roy Barnes (D) declared that 2003 would be the “Year of Water”, a comprehensive plan to strengthen the Georgia’s water supply. Of course, Barnes failed to win re-election in 2002 and his plans were shelved by his predecessor, Republican Sonny “Pray for Rain” Perdue, seen below partying like a rockstar.
